Italian Design Workshop

I met Francesco through a mutual friend in 2012. As a NYC general contractor it was clear to me from the very beginning he was a highly intelligent and passionate design professional. In 2015, my wife and I decided to purchase my grandfather’s house in Italy. Initially, being a general contractor, I thought I was going to be able to renovated it on my own. After one year of little to no progress whatsoever, I was ready to give up and let the house sit as it was, practically uninhabitable. Then one day Francesco’s name came to mind as a possible resource to help me and my wife transform my grandfather’s house into our Italy dream house. That same day I called Francesco, and within three hours he was at my office, and within another two hours we had an agreement to get to work on the house on the other side of the globe. He was absolutely fantastic. The project consisted of a full gut renovation inclusive of structural upgrades, new widows, new mechanical systems and electrical service. He did the design, the expediting of all local municipality requirements, interviewing of local contractors, hiring of engineering professionals, project management, acoustical and thermal analysis. He handled everything from beginning to end inclusive of managing the purchase and delivery of furniture, bedding, kitchen equipment right down to the table cloth on the kitchen table. He left no stone unturned and demanded the highest level of quality from everyone involved. It was as if he was renovating his own home. We could not have done it without him. My wife and I sat back and watched it happen like magic. In August of 2017, my wife and I along with eight guests enjoyed our first vacation in our magnificent Italy dream house. Francesco is truly a gifted real estate, design and construction professional we highly recommend.
Francesco has collaborated with me on our clients’ residential projects over several years. He has been invaluable on design and construction documents and has provided good suggestions on improving designs and details. He is diligent in his work and is a pleasure to work with.
I have known and worked with Francesco (founder of Italian Design Workshop) for a couple of years now. What started as a chance encounter, has become a wonderful journey together in regards to my first purchase of an overseas property as a US citizen residing in New York. We met Francesco back in 2021. We have entrusted him to help us and guide us in the renovation of our two apartments. Francesco has many connections with different general contractors and specialty contractors. With his passion and expertise, he has helped us to find quality and affordable windows (including shutters and screens) and heating/cooling specialists. My husband and I just returned from our beloved home in Cinaglio, and we cannot say enough about the workmanship in the renovations of our home. Francesco has gone above and beyond to help us, and we appreciate all he has done and continues to do.
I met Francesco through BNI which is an internationally active business networking organization to which we both belong. Integrity and doing what you say you will do are two of that organization's guiding principles. Therefore, I knew when I first met Francesco, that he would be an honest, responsible, diligent, creative professional. We met and talked - and I heard about his teamwork skills and longtime associations with contractors and project management. At that very moment in time, working for myself as an architect in NYC, I was looking for a collaborative associate to handle CAD drafting and site supervision on a couple of residential projects. I was delighted when someone with Francesco's depth of experience was open to the idea of working together. I have found him to be a reliable colleague who delivers on deadline, and follows through on details. He is good at talking to all the people on a job to ensure they are doing their best work. He knows where to put his energy and focus so that progress doesn't get bogged down. His attention to detail and design creativity contributed greatly to the success of the projects we have worked on together. I look forward to working with him again and again.
